Kira | WebAfrica —June 2025.

Africa is no longer just watching the Web3 wave it’s riding it. And this time, it’s making sure women are right at the front. In a powerful step toward digital inclusion, a bold new initiative has been launched to educate six million African women in Web3, blockchain, and the metaverse over the next five years. This is more than a campaign, it’s a movement to ensure African women aren’t just consumers of technology but creators, builders, and innovators in this new digital world.
The initiative, led by Unstoppable Women of Web3 (WoW3) and powered by a powerful coalition of global and African organizations, aims to break the existing barriers that have historically limited women’s participation in tech. From Lagos to Nairobi, Accra to Johannesburg, this program is set to open new doors for women in Web3 offering training, mentorship, tools and Web3 domains for free.
For decades, African women have been sidelined in conversations around emerging technologies. But as Web3 grows, this new era presents a chance to reframe the story and put women at the heart of innovation. With support from organizations like Unstoppable Domains, Polygon Labs, Chipper Cash, Sankore 2.0, and the African Leadership Group, the initiative is focused on not just education, but empowerment with real-world tools.

Participants will gain access to personalized Web3 domain names (ending in .crypto or .nft), enabling them to take control of their digital identity and online presence. The program will also provide access to practical skills workshops from learning how to set up a crypto wallet to understanding smart contracts and building in the metaverse.
This initiative couldn’t be more timely. As Africa emerges as one of the fastest-growing regions in crypto adoption and blockchain innovation, the gender gap remains a real threat to inclusive development. By focusing on six million women students, entrepreneurs, creators and professionals the program is laying a foundation for a more equitable tech economy.
The aim isn’t just to give women seats at the table, it’s to help them build the table, host the event and lead the next wave of innovation in Web3. From building decentralized apps to launching NFT collections and creating metaverse communities, African women are being given the blueprint and the belief to make their ideas a reality.

Beyond the numbers and tech tools, the true strength of this program lies in the network it’s building. A sisterhood of African women exploring a new frontier together collaborating, learning and sharing across borders. Whether it’s a young coder in Cape Town or a fashion entrepreneur in Kigali, this initiative is creating digital bridges between women who are rewriting Africa’s tech future.
This is about more than blockchain , it’s about economic independence, digital visibility and generational impact. Web3 is still young, and Africa’s women have a chance to shape what it becomes. With access, support and the right tools, they can build businesses, uplift communities, and lead innovation from the continent to the global stage.
In a world where ideas move at the speed of light, this initiative ensures that African women are not left behind but instead, they’re leading the charge. The future of Web3 in Africa is female and that future starts now.
